The Hitch Skid Cover mounts to the hitch receiver and trailer safety chain hook-up points, providing protection to the rear hitch and bumper.
The hitch skid cover is engineered with a 1/41/2 inch clearance to prevent contact with the plastic bumper. The skid mounts to the frame while the bumper is mounted to the body, so the gap accommodates chassis flex and relative movement. It also provides a small buffer in low-speed rear impacts.
